Occupational Environmental Protection
Impact on the environment: occupational environmental protection
We are aware of our ecological responsibility. The planning, initiation, and implementation of environmentally protective measures are a matter of course for us, especially as they contribute to sustainable corporate development and are essential for long-term business success. The various activities in this regard take place in the areas of disposal (waste management), storage (hazardous substance management), as well as in transportation (hazardous goods management).
Expertise & measures
Based on applicable regulations, customer requirements, and internal policies, we actively work towards preventing harmful environmental impacts. We allocate appropriate resources for this purpose and promote both the expertise and environmental awareness of our employees. Through continuous training and development, we motivate them to act responsibly and provide them with the necessary skills to implement required measures. The promotion of environmental awareness and environmental expertise is conveyed through the BayWa EH&S Academy, among other channels.
We take the necessary measures to avoid harmful environmental impacts and use resources such as energy, water, etc., judiciously. Regular random inspections are carried out at company locations to monitor implementation and identify (further) optimization potentials. In our product range, we offer a variety of environmentally friendly products that we also use ourselves. We maintain an open dialogue with customers, authorities, and the public.

- Disposal of waste in accordance with regulations and environmentally friendly practices
We ensure compliance with regulations for separation, intermediate storage, labeling, delivery, transport, and utilization (if applicable, also considering hazardous substance, water, and hazardous goods regulations). In the context of disposal, we collaborate with qualified service providers through various framework agreements. To ensure activities are carried out, the company has appointed its own waste officer.

Due to numerous handling operations, damage to containers cannot be ruled out, leading to the unintentional release of hazardous substances and goods. To respond purposefully to an unintentional product release, structures and procedural workflows are established to minimize risks and impacts. This ensures coordinated and effective action in emergencies without endangering those present due to the released hazardous substances and goods. Here you learn more about it.

The safety data sheet for a hazardous product is intended to enable professional users to take necessary measures for health protection, workplace safety, and environmental protection. We keep the current safety data sheets from manufacturers and suppliers for all chemicals used, stored, transported, or disposed of in the workplace. The data sheets are accessible to employees in emergencies or operational disruptions. For hazardous substances and mixtures placed on the market, safety data sheets are passed along the supply chain.
